His sword is strapped to his right side and a brown leather quiver with simple ornaments hangs on his back.

Role Play

Personality:
A normally stoic personality, since his return from his birth tribe, the White Cold Hunters, Surefire has been more relaxed and less serious in the company of others. Enjoying the interaction with others now, he has struck up some new friendships, particularly with Rock, who may be one of the sources of Surefire's less stoic demeanor. Still the silent type, however, he sends more than speaks but in the comforts of his own den, Dirk has been successful in getting him to use his voice.

History:
Born to a tribe of northern elves known as the White Cold Hunters, Surefire's parents did not live long after his birth. Taken in by friends of his parents he soon befriended Strongsoul, his soul brother. When he was living in his birth tribe, Surefire was a very open, easy to get along with elf. He would even go so far as to help pull the occasional practical joke. The day came, however, when one who was not much more than a cub took over the chieftainship. Distraught over her parents' deaths, Sylven made life hard for the White Cold Hunters. A few years passed by, and argument after heated argument saw Surefire quickly closing himself off from much of the tribe.

It was not long before Surefire's soul brother, Strongsoul, was injured on a hunting trip. A day's fighting between Surefire and Sylven caused Surefire to make a life changing decision for himself: he would leave his birth tribe at the end of the white cold. Recognition between him and Clearheart only delayed his departure a little before the two of them left the tribe.

Clearheart travelled with him when Surefire left the White Cold Hunters, in search of something that they didn't know for sure existed. After a little more than a year of travelling they miraculously stumbled across Rushwater Holt into which they were gladly accepted. Their cub, Lionheart, was born shortly after their arrival in Rushwater Holt.

When Clearheart's wolf-friend was killed she disappeared from the holt, spending several days by herself. It was upon her return that she decided to end her lifemating with Surefire and den with Wise Elk, becoming his lovemate. Surefire took this turn of events hard but pulled through it as best he could. He kept his relationship with Lionheart going and not long afterwards, he took Lionheart and Rock on a trip away from the holt. On this trip, Rock and Surefire got into several heated arguments about Surefire's planning. Lionheart also brought down his first longtooth, miraculously saving the lives of both Rock and Surefire through a freak course of actions.

After this adventure, Surefire felt the need to return to his birth tribe and so he began to prepare for the long journey. He hated leaving Lionheart but the complusion he felt was overwhelming and he felt left with no choice. When he finally found his way back to the White Cold Hunters, he was faced with yet another elf/troll war, from which the elves were victorious. Within the next year he departed for Rushwater Holt again.

Upon his arrival back in Rushwater Holt, it was Dirk who greeted him first, by surprise. But it was to both of their surprise when the two suddenly found themselves Recognized while staring into each other’s eyes. During the time that followed, Dirk made it very clear that she did not want the rest of the tribe to know she was with cub, for fear she would be denied her place as holt guard while the humans warred nearby. Although he greatly disagreed with her, Surefire relented the case but kept a firm eye on his new lifemate.

In time the humans ended their foul war and went their separate ways, much to the tribe's relief in general and to Surefire in particular due to Dirk's stubbornness. He was able to relax only for a short time, however, as the birth of their son, Boldscout, lead to obvious differences in Dirk and Surfire's parenting sytles as Dirk was prone to allowing the cub to play with sharp objects and taking him hunting strapped to her back. Surefire has since learned to make some allowances with his lifemate and took to teaching Boldscout the importance of safety and beginning skills he would expand on later as he grew older. Lionheart returned to denning with Surefire and Dirk, for the most part, and Surefire had been diligently preparing his eldest son for the excitement of his first hunt.

Lionheart has left for his first hunt and Surefire will never admit it, but he is a bit anxious and will be relieved when his son returns from this hunt. Surefire is very proud of Boldscout and his first wolf bond. Boldscout always wanted to join the archery practices with his father and brother and now he’ll get his chance. But Surefire won’t make it easy and Boldscout will probably soon wish he could go back to just playing.

Personality:
He loves water and doesn't let any chance go by to take a swim. He's very calm and clever, which has served him well in climbing the pack's hierarchy. It's relatively easy to find him laying around the holt or wolf dens, brooding and thinking on a problem similar to chewing a good bone.
