Hair:
Slightly curly, hangs to about mid-back, light to medium brown in colour. The top section of her hair is drawn back in small braids and loops at the back of her head, held in place by a long leather fillet. The remainder is in one long braid, with bangs and shorter pieces loose around her face.

Her face is oval-shaped, with full lips and a small, rounded nose. Her hands are small and delicate.

Clothes:

Forest green thigh-high leggings that come down over the bridges of her feet.

Role Play

Personality:
Dawnmist is calm and tender and always considerate to others. She is friendly towards elves and doesn't like to be away from them for long periods of time. She's a vicious eater, and sometimes needs to be reminded to slow down and chew. She favours leafy greens with her meals. Loves to joke in a kind-natured way, chat and sing. Most of what she knows was learned from her father, Creeper, and Wildstar.

Dawnmist loves to dance and run. Each evening upon waking she runs a short distance from the holt to a small pool to dance a delicate but intricate dance of leaps and twirls, accompanied by her knife. It is a special release for her spirit and a time to ponder quietly.

Dawnmist believes in living each day to its fullest and to not take anything for granted. She views death as a natural, albeit painful, aspect of life.

Treasures:
Purehaven and Beechnut, her necklace, antlers from the branchhorn that nearly killed her.

History:
Sunshine and Creeper were born during Soulseeker's chieftainship. They Recognized each other when they were out swimming one day. Creeper was washing of the dust from hunting when Sunshine came to him. They started to talk and joke but it soon became a fight. Sunshine claimed that Creeper's wolf-friend, Sunstroke, had taken her little knife but Creeper said the wolf hadn't. Fighting, they both fell into the pool. At first Sunshine believed that Creeper had drowned and started to call to him - then Creeper pulled her under the water. Sunshine yelled at him but stopped when she notice how Creeper came towards her. She felt something when she looked into his eyes - and it was like sitting on hot coals - Recognition!

They soon had their first cub which they named Sunmist for the ray of early morning light that streamed through the den opening when she was born. Sunmist later changed her name to Dawnmist after returning from a successful soul name search. Creeper also sensed that his cub may have some of his plant shaping magic but Dawnmist didn't discover this fully until after her soul name search.

Dawnmist's first trauma happened when she was a young adult and her brother, Chestnut, was still a cubling. Her parents, Sunshine and Creeper, died when two swordfeet attacked them and some fellow elves on an hunting expedition. Dawnmist found out a few days after the attack and both siblings' hearts were broken.

Two years later, Dawnmist went on her soul name search. It was a windy autumn evening when she left. Dawnmist meditated for a few days on her soul name. After suddenly discovering she could shape plants, she also discovered her soul name. She was sitting next to a bush where two birds were building a nest. The nest was being built very late - all the other birds had their nests already finished. She watched the half-finished nest and thought, "Oh, if only those branches could bend into a nest for those poor little birds." As she sat there, the branches started to bend. Wide eyed, she watched the event unfold before her. When the nest was ready the birds flew inside the nest and started to sing. "Did I do that?" ask Dawnmist to herself. She tried it on the grass and it grew taller. She had found her soul name and her magical power. When she returned to the holt, she renamed herself Dawnmist.

Shortly after finding her soul name, crocodilians attacked a hunting expedition Dawnmist was on. She got hurt very badly - a few broken bones and two deep wounds were slashed into her arm and leg. As Purehaven went to heal the wound to her arm, Dawnmist stopped him and instead helped him to bandage his own head. As she did so, she found she had a particular affection for the elf and the two soon became lovemates.

Dawnmist has had one big dream in life - to have a cub. When Recognition finally hit, she was thrilled with the idea that she would finally have the cub she always wanted. However, she was horrified by the fact that it wasn't Purehaven who would be the father of her cub but Halfkin, an elf totally opposite to her and one she couldn't understand at all. Her fears increased when Purehaven appeared to fear her leaving him for Halfkin but she managed to convince him of her staying with him. She is happy with her small family and somewhat glad that Halfkin did not wish to lifemate with her as she tends to be rather afraid of him. Looking back on the events of her Recognition, she has no misgivings and thanks the High Ones every day for the blessing of her child.

Now that Beechnut is growing up, Dawnmist finds that she has more time for herself - and Purehaven - and lately has begun to reconnect with her spontaneous side. She participates more often in hunts and scouting trips, and has taken an interest in trapping as well, learning to make and use her own designs.
