Personality:
Dirk comes by her name honestly, having a personality as sharp and cutting as her favourite weapon of choice. She's the no-nonsense type that can either take you or leave you as she sees fit. She has an intense suspicion to downright hatred of all humans and trolls and would rather see most of them on the sharp end of her blade. A fighter's spirit roars inside her petite frame. However, while she is more then willing to do risky stunts to kill the round-ears, she isn't so blind as to it rush in suicidally. Her suspicious nature and grudge holding abilities, mixed with a sharp-witted tongue, make her an extremely dangerous warrior when riled.

Treasures:
Her many throwing daggers, her memory of her first hunt, her status in the Hunt. Also her mother's necklace given to Brightmoss by Sheercliff. And while she snipes her lifemate, she has given him one of her throwing daggers to show he's special as well.

History:
Dirk's suspicion and hatred of humans was always fairly well established, even when younger. However, these feelings solidified as a youth when she and her mother, Brightmoss, where out in the northern canyons and a band of Land Loper humans snatched her away. Luckily for Dirk, Brightmoss and her wolf-friend rescued her with only a few minor mishaps but the event terrified Dirk, although she would not openly admit it.

Suspicious by nature, Dirk doesn't often trust herself or others enough to open up. The exception being with her mother, Brightmoss, who always seemed to intuitively know her better than Dirk knew herself. Since her father Sheercliff died when Dirk was too young to remember well, she spent much of her life with her mother and the two were the closest Dirk has ever been to anyone.

With her father dead when she was young, she grew up with Woodsmoke as a father figure. Brightmoss used to have her cubsitted by the older brother when she herself needed a break from the active cub Dirk was. However to Dirk, Woodsmoke still drives her crazy with his too-much thinking ways most of the time. Same with her cousin, Summerset, but she's still a good friend.

After Brightmoss' death, the tribe seemed to have to protect Dirk from herself - she refused to eat, sleep or talk and she seemed to completely freeze over her emotions. In an attempt to get her over the loss, the tribe encouraged her to hunt and Dirk did - she hunted anything she could track, to the point where the tribe had to stop her because she was killing, not hunting, and there was too much meat being taken down. It was then she changed her name from Littlejoy to Dirk.

With the help of Purehaven's healing abilities and Dreamberry's howls and dreamberry bowl, Dirk regained most of herself from her mourning period. However, her harsh and competitive nature still exists very strongly. She greatly values her place in the Hunt. An unusual friendship has grown between her and Birchbark - unusual since they don't have much in common. For Dirk, Birchbark is the little sister she wanted while growing up. As for Rock, he was the occasional lovemate for awhile.

Since Rock's infatuation with Wildstar and Dreamberry, Dirk became somewhat lonely for another lovemate. While not shy to ask during the Dance of Joining, she was more reluctant to ask the rest of the time. Given a choice, Dirk would have gone after Surefire but he intimidated her a little - though she would never admit it - and he didn't even notice her anyway. He wandered back to his home tribe, leaving Dirk a bit snappish.

At the same time, her father figure and uncle, Woodsmoke, Recognized Dreamshadow. That left his lovemate and Dirk's friend, Snowsoft, feeling hurt. It took a bit of time, but Dirk has been working her frustrations out on solitary trips to the canyons, returning her usual self.

Then the Land Lopers stirred up trouble, and Dirk divided her time between hunting and holt guarding. It was during one day of holt guarding that Surefire returned to the holt. BANG! Recognition struck, and while she didn't fight the urge, she made Surefire keep it a secret; scared the tribe would make her stay at the holt. She kept this going until the human threat was over.

By then it was hard to disguise her stomach and she gladly cut her work load. However, knowing she would be holt-bound, she asked for an apprenticeship with Dreamberry. Welcome the next howl keeper and mother-to-be huntress! It was a bit rough while she dealt with mood swings and her lifemate's depression for his friend's death but a lot better then was expected. Busy only with Dreamberry officially, Dirk took the time to support Surefire and Halfkin, and kept an eye on Lionheart.

Surefire takes care of Boldscout mostly when they're together, but she's very protective of the cub and enjoys taking the cub out hunting. Lionheart is at a more comprehensive age for her to relate too, and she enjoys when he does den with them, but understands his need to be with Wise Elk. She does leave Boldscout with Survivor to join the Hunt every two hands of days, and then drags her lifemate off for alone time, taking great delight in teasing him into using his voice. One little secret is how she's made Surefire to actually talk, not send, when they're in their den. A beautiful voice just shouldn't be neglected.

Her bad habit of gripping her dagger hilts so tightly is beginning to only appear during tales of fierce battle. Being the apprentice, she takes more time listening then telling at the moment anyway, although her glare is still sharp at any interruptions when she practices. Boldscout is her main audience so Dirk often drags her son to relax and play as she listens to some of the older tribe mates' stories.

An off-hand joke from young Lionheart had Dirk seeing red. Not only does the cub want to apprentice with Nettle as a troll barterer, but casually laughed at the threat and danger. Well, she's determined to make him ready to deal with it. Teaching him stealth and how to use a throwing dagger with intense concern, and annoyed with Surefire and Nettle for down-playing troll treachery. Friends calmed the panicked and angry huntress a little. Good thing too, as another tribe mate, Foxears, seems to wish the skill of dagger throwing. She caught him trying to self-teach himself before taking amused pity and offering to include him in her lessons with Lionheart.

Currently: A great joy appeared when Chieftess Wildstar announced she had Recognized, which gave way to concern as the father wasn't Rock. Still stung by cousin Summerset's disappearance, she is not ready to lose another due to wandering off. Not used to sitting back patiently, Dirk makes do with hunting and worrying over the "Wolfstrider/Halfkin" developments (she's positive they're lovemates). She does refrain from outright meddling by nudging Lionheart into visiting them.

Name: Stalker
Sex: Male
Age: 26
Rank: High (Beta)
Stalker

Markings:
Thick light brown pelt with darker brown fur on head and down top of muzzle, white underbelly and bottom of muzzle, black lips. Large paws and light brown eyes that seem to follow you where ever you go.

Personality:
Stalker is an intense wolf, attentive to everything, not much gets past him unawares. Dirk's competitive personality has rubbed off on him (or the other way around), and he rarely hangs around unless it's a hunt or they're around the wolves' dens. Stalker remains ready to challenge back up toward Alpha despite the light touch of age.
