Personality:
Gracious and caring, Dreamshadow is well liked amongst her tribe mates. However, her quiet, melancholic and introverted manner keep most from truly feeling close to her. Having lost so many of those she loved, she in turn can be reluctant to get close as well. Her strong sending power and her ability to see visions and to read and interpret dreams often leave her in contemplative moods, during which she prefers to be alone. All the same, it is because of her unusual abilities, that others sometimes come to her for advice or insight. Despite her remote manner and reluctance to become close to others, she is very sensitive and can't help but care deeply for all her tribe mates.

Though she seems at times eccentric, her kind-hearted and generous spirit, and her affinity for storytelling, endear her to others. Those who are close to her know her to be surprisingly strong-willed, with a subtle sense of humour. Dreamshadow has a long memory, and never forgets a favour. She can be loyal to a fault, even if she thinks a friend is wrong.

Treasures:
Wolf necklace and carved bone dagger with jewel inset given to her by Calmspirit. Goldleaf's bow. A silver flute.

History:
Newmoon's strong magic feeling allowed her to sense her cub's powers at reading dreams while the wolfling was still in her womb, so she named her Dreamchaser. Little Dreamchaser was the joy of her parents' lives, and for several turns the family was very happy, even as the darker side of the cub's powers were making themselves known. Tragedy struck during Dreamchaser's fourth turn when her father Goldleaf was captured and killed by Land Lopers while hunting. As a result, she was seeded with a deep and instinctive fear of humans. When Newmoon, too, was killed by humans fifteen turns later, Dreamchaser was crushed, and her fear of humans was driven deeper into her heart.

Shortly after her mother's death, Dreamchaser embarked on her soul name search and returned quite some time later with the name Dreamshadow, to signify the increasingly disturbing aspect of her visions, and a newly discovered skill: astral projection. Often haunted or disturbed by her visions, Dreamshadow always felt different from her tribe mates, though this never affected her deep love for each and every one of them. They often came to her when they had dreams that confused or frightened them, and she almost always had answers. As her powers continued to mature, she found that she could, on occasion, read her tribe mates' dreams when they were particularly intense without being consulted prior and this made her extremely uncomfortable. She makes every effort to block those images from her mind, as they are a frightful invasion of privacy. Since she was a small cub, disturbing dreams and visions of her own plagued her. She communed with elf spirits, animal spirits, and, to her horror, the spirits of human dead. Sometimes she feared that these visions would haunt her until she was driven insane, and spent many long hours in private meditation.

When she was a young adult, she began to take special notice of Calmspirit, who was then twenty turns old. She was drawn to the young dye maker's gentle and easy going manner, for which he'd been named. They fell deeply in love and he moved into her den near the edge of the holt. He was her rock. In his arms she felt safe and secure. His steady, unwavering love kept her grounded, and kept the ghosts that haunted her at bay. Though they did not Recognize and had no children, after a century together they lovingly exchanged soul names. For nearly three hundred turns, they were very happy, until once again tragedy struck. While out gathering plants to make his dyes, Calmspirit was captured by humans, tortured and murdered.

Dreamshadow was inconsolable. Though her tribe mates tried to offer comfort, none could reach her. For the next several turns she was consumed by bitterness, vowing never to love anyone ever again. Her fear of humans blossomed into hatred, and her visions concerning them were all the more painful because of it. For weeks at a time she would not leave her den, remaining ensconced in her own world of pain and grief. She would have starved to death if her friends had not brought her food and water. It was nearly six turns before she began to realize that her bitterness was tearing her apart and that this was no way to live. She began the long, painful process of healing. Though she did eventually resume her roles of dream interpreter and storyteller, she did not feel completely whole.

New direction came into Dreamshadow's life when she Recognized Woodsmoke, lifemating him, and later giving birth to Echo. During the Recognition, Woodsmoke and Snowsoft were lovemates. Woodsmoke and Dreamshadow talked about Snowsoft and she was present at the birth of Echo. Dreamshadow and Woodsmoke have since settled into their new lifemating, denning together with their growing young daughter. She is extremely content with her life, grateful to have Recognized an old friend and certain that their match is true and perfect.

Nettle gifted Dreamshadow with a silver flute after a trading trip with the trolls. Lark is currently teaching her how to play and Dreamshadow is enjoying her new hobby. Fond of Snowbird's nephew, Mystic, she recently helped him find and free his aunt's spirit. Together they learned the truth about her death and the death of Clearheart: that they were killed by a Land Loper.
