How Lark met Slytrapper.

Line

Rustle.

Crack.

Upset footsteps crushed grass under its weight and a few twigs snapped as some bushes were pushed to the side roughly. 'Don't want me to practise there, do you? Going to walk around yelling all the time, are you? Going to try and fur while I'm trying to make some songs, are you?'

With an annoyed grunt Lark pushed aside another few bushes, striding on and on in an attempt to get as far away from the holt as she possibly could and get some peace to practise with her flute and turn some of her thoughts into songs. There was much running through the song maker's head and she felt neither of her lovemates had left her alone for a single moment to be able to play her flute, to listen to its sounds in a mixture of what she created and what the forest seemed to add to it. She loved playing outside, the open space seemed to give the music some room to play with and she loved it. Annoyingly enough, there was something else her lifemates loved, especially on a spring night like this, and she just wasn't interested, not now.

Her face had a red stain on it and her cheeks seemed slightly puffy; she always got rather red when she got irritated like that and the frown on her face didn't get around the facts, either. The blood was rushing through her veins rather fast; seemingly attempting to win a race against the other blood cells while her heart was beating faster.

Yellow eyes looked at the passing figure from the shadows. They squinted and followed the figure from that point on following the elfin female quietly and slowly.

'I'll show you my music. I'll write a song and you'll hear how annoying you two are!' Lark thought to herself as she had arrived at a slightly open spot between the trees and bushes where she continued to move back and forth, unaware of the eyes spying on her every move. Calm moonlight fell down on the center of the spot as its creator stood high in the night sky.

Rustling up the dust between the grass, Lark continued her pacing untiringly, the red blush starting to dissapear from her cheeks but the anger still raging in her body. 'I'll show you. I'll show you good! And then - then - then I don't know, but something for sure!' she thought to herself and continued with another round of pacing back and forth.

At that moment small paws moved forward from their hiding place, still unnoticed by the maiden as she had just then turned her back to it. The fluffy ball of wolf jumped forward and without regard for it's own life attacked Lark's ankle bravely. Lark, whose nerves were tensed up to an absolute high cried out loudly and twisted her head toward her ankle with a speed as if she was going to kill whatever she'd see there. Her eyes were opened wide in startled surprise as she looked at the pup that had just bit her ankle and was now pouncing up and down while looking up at her, it's tail wagging from side to side.

Slytrapper Attacks

The song shaper blinked a few times, completely confused as to what had just happened before relaxing the muscles in her body that had been so tensed up before, and crouched before the pup. The pup responded with a happy yip and jumped back playfully, after which it made an attempt to attack Lark's knees. Soft giggles could be heard from Lark and she put down the flute that she had clutched in her hand all the way.

"Well, hello there." With the same hand she petted the pup over the head a few times and grinned quietly to herself. "You're a sly one, aren't you? Following me all the way to here and trapping me here." The irritated look on her face had disappeared and instead made place for a smile as she looked at the small dark, grey coloured wolf that was now sitting before her. His tongue lolled out and he looked up at her with his puppy eyes.

Unable to send with words he sent a mixture of welcoming feelings to her so she'd know she had been the one he had been waiting for.

Lark hadn't heard his call before, having been occupied with the things going on but now, in this calm place, she could hear the call very clearly as the pup looked up at her, into her eyes. "You're mine, aren't you? My new wolf bond."

She was slightly taken aback, but the wonder in her voice wasn't because of confusion. Instead it was happiness that her voice rang with. She spoke in soft tones to the pup that by now had stood up and was gnawing at her toes playfully, every so often looking up at his new-found bond to see what she was doing and if she was even noticing. Another yip announced that he needed her attention for he felt like it was failing him, energetic as he was.

Her eyes had a kind of new softness to them that she had only now refound. She had been lonely after her wolf bond had died, her mind had not wanted to realize it but it was the simple and plain truth. In the moments when she just couldn't see any of her loved ones anymore, when she wanted to be away from them but not wrapped in loneliness, her wolf bond had been there.

Her wolf bond. How had she missed it? But that would no more be so, for a new wolf had found her and picked her to be his bond.

"Slytrapper; that's who you are, that will be your name," she said with a smile as she picked him up. **Slytrapper. I am Lark and I will name you Slytrapper, my bond.** The wolf send went in to him and a content sigh seemed to be the answer, he was happy with the name, happy with his elf bond.

From now on she had a wolf bond again, and what a wolf bond he was! He took only a moment of peace before starting to bite at her fingers playfully.

'I'm going to have a good time with you Slytrapper, I know it,' she thought to herself and decided that this time wouldn't be for songs, but for him.
