Role Play
Personality:
Her moods are very explosive and she can suddenly turn from joyful to angry with no apparent explanation. Compassionate, strong willed (stubborn), caring, gentle, mischievous and adventurous. She thinks in the NOW as best as any elf could, always doing what pleases her at the time and never really caring about consequences, and she tries her hardest not to dwell on the past. But, unlike when she was younger, she actually thinks before opening her mouth. This new-found skill can be lost if she is in the grips of strong emotions. She also tries to be honest. She doesn't like lying, but sometimes she catches herself when she wants to make one.
She loves to be with her friends and all sorts of animals, from birds to especially wolves. And, of course, the adventuring that is just a part of her being cannot be left out. Also, she loves to collect things, from nifty little stones to pieces of leather. There is a basket by her furs that is full of little odds and ends.
However, she dislikes following rules. Life is pretty much a game and should not be wasted with rules and pleasing everyone but yourself. People should do what they think is best and not what is ordered by others. Trolls and humans are not much appreciated and she simply cannot come to peace with her brother Bowstorm. Also, she cannot stand it when others pick on those younger or weaker than themselves.
There aren't many things that scare her, but she secretly is scared of dying, although that is not something that will stop her from taking dangerous risks for the sake of adventure or just to prove someone wrong. One phobias of hers is spiders; an uncontrollable fear comes over her when she sees spiders bigger then a beetle.
She is able to put a lot of faith into herself and rarely relies on anyone but herself. Her time alone has helped her gain a confidence that she lacked before. She is far away from being egotistical or arrogant, though if she isn't careful she can come off as being a know-it-all. Although she has gained a lot more confidence, she still worries about what others think of her, and so she is very careful to think before she speaks. In the current situation that she, Tendril and Mystic have created, she feels like she's the one to be blamed for all the problems and she thinks the rest of the tribe blames her as well. She tends not to hear it but it touches her deep inside.
After Dreamsongs death, she pulled back to her mother again for advice, in the realization that though she might be an adult in age, she still needs some guidance.
Treasures:
The necklace her father gave her, her collection of nick-knacks and her soul sister headband.
History:
When Tendril was born, Dapple was only two and used to getting attention. Suddenly all attention was on the new one. At first she resented her niece and then she liked to boss her around. But then they grew up and Tendril wouldn't take it any more. Now they are best friends and inseparable.
After Tendril left and found her soul name and wolf-friend, Dapple once again felt that old rivalry. To prove that she was just as good as her best friend and niece, she went off on her own. During her own soul name search she ended up living in a state of panic caused by a strange dream. In the end she was saved by her now wolf-friend and she found her soul name. She also began to realize that she never really had any reason to prove herself to anyone - except to herself.
Life continued to progress in its usual steady pace, the occasional fight with Lark and Bowstorm, getting into mischief here and there and of course inseparable from Tendril. In time, Silverwolf went on her own soul name search but when she didn't return shortly, Dapple ignored Chieftess Wildstar's orders and went after the young Wolfrider.
While out after Silverwolf, Dapple learned a lot about herself, including that she had taken a lot for granted. It took Nightwalker's death for her to realize that she really cared for him and in the discovery she lost the concept of living in the NOW. She was almost dragged into depression but was saved by Dreamsong. Learning that her animal bonding skill is as strong as it is boosted her confidence, and she returned to the Holt ready for life again, and ready to live all of it without giving herself cause for any regrets.
When Snowbird and Clearheart died, she had a hard time seeing Lionheart the way he was suffering from his mother's loss. She took him with her on her trip to find the gigantic birds and they have become friends since then.
When she earlier in her life thought that she would love to have a lovemate, things could not get any worse when she discovered that she loved Mystic instead of Nightwalker through her dreams. This image kept haunting her, but for the sake of her soul sister and best friend, she did not dare to tell anyone about it. But eventually Mystic found out, and told her that although he loved Tendril deeply with all his heart, it did not mean that there wasn't any place left for her. She had always had a special place in his heart for him and he kindly reminded her that he once had a crush on her. She started to open up a bit and it all came to an outburst when Mystic and Dapple told Tendril about what had happened. She simply couldn't deny it any more, and although it hurt her soul sister deeply and she felt sorry for her, she knew there was no other way to say it. Tendril has accepted it more or less, but also mentioned that she was not ready in for a three-mating.
This went on many moons until Dapple couldn't stand it any longer and blurted out against Tendril for acting the way she did. And, if Tendril wouldn't decide soon, Dapple would by leaving Mystic and the Holt for a while. But Tendril realized she didn't want to lose either Mystic or Dapple and finally gave in after talking to Harmony, who made her realize she loved the both of them dearly. But Tendril wasn't really happy with the situation and her feeling that she hadn't been enough for Mystic and her unhappiness resulted in a breakup - Tendril left Mystic and Dapple and continued to live on her own.
Dapple was startled by this and again she felt the burning gazes of her tribe mates on her back. She would give anything to have Tendril and Mystic back together, but after a while it seemed it would not happen. After her feelings of guilt started to lessen a bit, she had to face another drama in her life, namely losing her wolf when they had to outrun a maddened boar that cost Dapple her long hair and Dreamsong's life. Her mother found her near Dreamsong's body and took her home. Since then, Dapple has sought her mother's advice more often, realizing she isn't as independant as she'd thought.
