Dapple faces one of her worst fears.
A dark creature, with a hairy body and hairy legs investigated the room in which she was sleeping. His eight legs moved swiftly and without any sound. Food, that was a good idea, and here were a lot of dark spots where he could hide from the warm sun outside, and hide from the birds that saw it as a nice meal. Okay, there was someone else here, but if he played this well, the creature would not even notice it when he would use her body to climb to her other side and find a place between the furs. Besides, he liked the warmth that she produced.
"AEIIIEE!"
A loud and fearful scream filled the peaceful silence that surrounded Dapple's den, and only a second later she combined falling and jumping to get out of there. The preservers, who woke up fastest, were with her within a few seconds. "Happy Yell Highting no screaming! Sleep, sleep! Look, sun is still there!" Capnut spoke with an annoyed look in its eyes while it pointed madly to the yellow circle in the sky. Dapple grabbed the preserver and said, slightly panicked: "Then you go in there and get rid of that monster!" She got angry despite her fear. Those annoying bugs! Just wait, wait until they got such a thing walking over their chest!
Glimmer already made its way to her den, but before the preserver had reached the entrance, she plucked it out of the air. "Don't go inside, bug," she insisted, "It's horrible! A large hairy beast with lots of hairy legs…" she shivered when she recalled the happenings in her den, a few moments before.
A large creature walked across her breasts towards her face, its hairy legs touched her skin…she shivered.
**Daughter, what's wrong?** The gentle mental voice of her mother filled her head and calmed her down a bit.
**Oh, Mother,** she replied quickly, **I woke up and-** She continued to send what happened and again she could not do anything but closing her eyes, horrified by the view.
The preservers started to scream. "Let go, let go! Bad Happy Yell Highting!" Glimmer squeaked while Capnut repeated its companion quickly. Smokepath entered the scene, still half asleep when her daughter almost flew towards her. Smokepath smiled slightly, and when she opened her mouth to speak she did not have any chance to say what she wanted, because three creatures were now screaming. The preservers continued their demand that Dapple should let them go and her daughter hysterically pointed out the size of the monster inside her den, which made the preservers a bit dizzy because she was waving madly with her arms.
"Now, Dapple, let go the preservers and we shall see what we can do to get rid of your monster." It was obvious that Smokepath found it kind of funny and frustrated, Dapple let go of the preservers. Capnut immediately flew away, squealing and screaming, but Glimmer hid in Smokepath's blonde hair. And while Smokepath gave the preserver some instructions after which it flew away, she turned around to her daughter. "Dearest, what you saw was merely a-"
"SPIDER!" Dapple screamed when the preserver got back with a dark, hairy creature in its arms.
"Happy Yell Highting want to have? Hee hee, is yours, is yours!"
"Kill it, kill it!" Dapple screamed when the preserver flew towards her, showing her the large spider which tried to get its freedom back by moving as many legs as possible.
"Glimmer, don't. Give it to me," Smokepath demanded, and Glimmer dropped the spider in the hands of the female. Smokepath threw it away as far as she could. "There," she said satisfied. "Your monster's gone, dearest daughter. Now, go back to sleep, okay?"
Dapple nodded in awe. She just…held it in her hand and threw it away! Shivering slightly, she turned around, heading back to her den, hoping that there would not be any other monsters. Glimmer hid in her hair. "Glimmer go. Hee hee. Glimmer protect Happy Yell Highting!" Dapple nodded quickly. Although the spider had been removed from her den, everyone who would accompany her now, even preservers, were well appreciated.
