Attributes
Current Name: Lodestone [-1286-1770]
Sex: Male
Age: 3056
Caste: Goldbrow
Eyes:
Deep, almost scarlet, red eyes surrounded by a milky yellow pupil.
Hair:
Grey, stringy, but unlike that of other trolls, trimmed neatly at shoulder length. He also sports a decently trimmed beard of silver white.
Facial Features:
A squat face, but not unattractive by troll standards. His nose is long and straight, and dotted with warts in all the right places. Thick, heavy brows make his brow line a bit more exaggerated than normal.
Height: 5'3" (160 cm)
Skin: Deep green, slightly mottled with liverspots from his age.
Build: Slender for a troll, but he doesn't appear delicate by any means. Age has bent his shoulders slightly, and he walks with a bit of a shuffle.
Clothes:
Lodestone prefers the finer materials the trolls have gained since they have begun trading with the elves, such as linen, though he doesn't care if they're richly dyed or not. He usually wears a long robe with a cape or jacket and keeps his head covered with a simple cloth cap.
Colours Worn: Tans, browns, the occasional reds, purples or blue.
Jewellery: Rings, especially of plain gold. A locket with crossed picks embossed on the front.

Relationships
Family:
Unknown. Lodestone is claimed by many lesser trolls to be older than the earth itself and any recollection of his beginnings or family have either been long forgotten or purposely erased.
Mates: None.
Friends:
He has served as an advisor to many a troll king, but he would be loathe to call any of them a friend.
Role Play
Personality:
Lodestone is secretive. It is rare for the common troll to see the old one outside the king's chambers or outside of Lodestone's own private corridors. But that is how Lodestone wishes it. He likes to play behind the scenes, to use the power of suggestion to get others to do his bidding. He's had the kings of many generations under his thumb and under his guide, and he isn't about to let the fool king Splitjaw change his pattern of involvement.
Treasures:
His private labortory containing his collections of alchemy experiments and volumous tomes written by and decipherable to only himself.
History:
Lodestone is an ancient troll. He was born ages ago to parents who have long since died, and has served as an advisor to more kings than can be counted on two hands. His past is surrounded by secrecy, as is the troll, and some whisper behind closed doors that the old one might be part of the group of trolls that began to build the now huge, ancient caverns. Lodestone makes no effort to confirm or to deny the rumours. He prefers the common people to know as little about him as possible.
Lodestone showed little interest in the arts of forging or attaining wealth even from the start. He was drawn more into the history of his people - of how the trolls first found this place, of the strategies that past and present kings had used to obtain the leadership over the kingdom. He had a remarkable memory and, as the years passed, kept a tally of how his people expanded and grew. He made a hobby of both collecting information and of experimenting with the metals and alloys mined in the caverns and aided in finding formulas to help filter the impurities out of metal to make stronger weapons and tools.
Lodestone had the wit, the wisdom and the cunning to rule if he so chose. But the crown was a highly volatile position and the responsibilities of the throne would distract him from his studies and his experiments. Instead, he began to bend the ears of both rulers and would-be-rulers alike, sometimes pitting one against the other if the current king wasn't living up to his high expectations. Lodestone himself made the office of the king much more volatile than before, and his scheming is a hobby he immensely enjoys…except with the current king.
Splitjaw is the proverbial thorn in Lodestone's side. Shortly after the old troll had persuaded Gnarl, the previous king, to kidnap elves in search of the rock shapers that Lodestone remembers from days long past, Splitjaw led the revolt that ultimately resulted in the loss of Gnarl's head and Splitjaw becoming the new king. Try as he may, Lodestone hasn't yet been able to persuade Splitjaw to do his bidding. So, true to his scheming nature, Lodestone is secretly plotting against the current king.
It is not unknown that a band of dissident trolls lives nearby - old supporters of the past king who refuse to pledge allegiance to Splitjaw and would do anything within their power to usurp the king's throne. Lodestone has met in secret with these dissidents on many occasions, slowly laying out plans that, he hopes, will cast Splitjaw out of the kingdom for good.
As to who the next ruler will be, Lodestone hasn't a care - provided the new king has an open ear. After all, there's no harm in war as long as he gets his way when the dust has settled.
