Eyes:
Though his eyes are blue, the pupils are a strange red/black, and the whites are always yellow and bloodshot. The left eye is slightly lazy, adding to his intimidating appearance.

Hair:
Inky blue, but greying in spots. Both the hair of his beard and head are quite coarse. His thick full beard falls to mid-chest, and though most of the hair on his head falls slightly past his shoulders, the top is kept short for more comfortable crown wearing. It is spiky as a result, which makes him all the more attractive to troll women.

Facial Features:
A large, down-turned, wart-covered nose takes up a good part of his face, but even that doesn't get rid of his prominent jaw. When he's angry, he sets it firmly, which often exaggerates the features of his somewhat squat face.

Height: 5'5" (165 cm)
Skin: A pale, mossy green. His skin is dotted with warts, as are most trolls', but Splitjaw has a cleaner complexion than usual.
Build: Large, muscular and strangely agile for one so bulky. He looks as though he could crush an elf's skull with his bare hands, and he probably would if provoked to that extent.

Clothes:
A fur-lined brown leather tunic that hangs almost to his knees when standing. Blue ragged trousers. His king's cloak, a rich red dyed fur cape lined with spotted fur, is one of his most prized possessions.

Colours Worn: Reds, blues, purples or browns. Anything that makes him look and feel more regal.
Jewellery: Splitjaw doesn't care much for jewels, rather power. He still wears a golden loop in his right ear, and a rose gold crown adorned with rubies and sapphires atop his head.

Role Play

Personality:
Splitjaw wasn't born into royalty. Rather, he earned it. He has a tough, yet outgoing personality, and when it comes to laying down the charm, he's an expert. Women always loved him, and he them. But his love for power was stronger than any woman's allure, and he set his sight on the throne from the day when Gnarl, the last troll king, usurped the throne and took the whole kingdom into an era of internal strife and war.

Now that he's king, Splitjaw takes pride in showing off his wealth and making the rest of the trolls know who is boss. Furs, fine weapons and women are always within easy reach, and loathe be anyone who tries to take his power away. After all, he's not called Splitjaw for nothing - his bite is far, far worse than his bark. Ask those who have found this out the hard way.

History:
Splitjaw was born to a rather poor couple who were almost at the bottom of the rankings of troll society. They owned little wealth, and both father, mother and their oldest son Puswart were bumbling idiots (at least in the mind of Splitjaw) who seemed content by their lot in life and made little effort to better themselves.

Splitjaw wanted none of that. The allure of wealth, power and women that belonged to higher ranking families was a constant, and as soon as he was able to heft a pick and shovel, Splitjaw set out to gain some of that power for himself. He spent nearly two hundred years in the mines, amassing his own treasure. When he'd gathered enough wealth, he made haste in moving into a new home - as far away from his lazy parents and brother as he could possibly get.

With wealth soon came new friends and a growing popularity. Though he kept a close watch on his own riches, he was always willing to work a vein with friends or others or to trade secrets with those of status or that seemed enterprising. Anything to gain favour from others. He was also proficient at gambling (and cheating) with these same acquaintances. As the years passed, many of these trolls became indebted to him. Furthermore, he was gathering a loyalty that would make any king jealous. Or any other troll, for that matter. A troll with that many friends is bound to have enemies, as well.

When Gnarl seized the throne for himself, Splitjaw was the leader of a large group of dissidents who wanted nothing more than to see the old troll step down. However, Gnarl's supporters were more numerous. And, in the beginning, the old king made troll society more prosperous so when Gnarl proposed that all dissidents be put to death, Splitjaw found himself hiding to save his own life.

However, when the war between trolls and elves escalated, things once again began to change. Lack of food and lack of water began to wear on the trolls. They wanted the war to stop, but Gnarl, knowing what wealth a rock shaper might bring to him, refused. Splitjaw came out of hiding to lead the growing number of dissidents against those who were loyal to the troll king. Civil war erupted in the troll caverns, and many lives were lost. In the end, it was Splitjaw himself who ran the old troll king through. With the support of his followers, he proclaimed himself king.

So far, Splitjaw's reign has been peaceful - he's focused more on attaining wealth, and if trading with the elves will add to that, then so be it. However, he trusts no one, and knows that, just as with Gnarl, there are those who would wish him dead. Let them try. Splitjaw is a force to be reckoned with in himself.
