Role Play
Personality:
Wise Elk is an elder you can depend on - for advise, a shoulder, an ear, a
cub sitter. He dislikes no one and can find a kind word to say about any elf or
wolf. Humans and especially trolls are another matter - he trusts neither races
and even hates trolls. Wise Elk has always had a soft spot for children and he
celebrates every birth in the tribe. His favorite activates these days are
tanning, wolf napping, and spending time with tribemates..
Likes: Soft leathers, a good wolf-nap.
Dislikes: Eating fish. He fears and detests the trolls.
Outlook on Life: Life can be long or short for elves. Find the things you enjoy to do and spend your life doing them. Give what you can to your tribe.
Treasures:
Arrowflame's quiver, Silversong's sword and Clearheart's heart necklace. Set of metal masterwork leather working tools.
History:
Wise Elk was a playful and silly cub. He grew up in a happy family environment, loved by three parents equally. Though he loved all his parents closely, he most identified with his adopted father, Strand, who was a fun-loving, easy-going howl keeper. He was very close to his mother, who tutored him in the ways of tanning, and he respected his sometimes-gruff father, who taught him in the arts of hunting and fighting. Wise Elk's love of detail pulled him to the craft of tanning for his tribal role. When Wise Elk's father died suddenly of illness, he began to look at life more seriously. He became quiet and thoughtful, though not at all sullen. It was during this time that he especially focused on his tanning skills and they improved greatly.
Though many lasses in the tribe were fetching, Arrowflame especially had caught young Wise Elk's heart. The two lovemated for many years, but she mysteriously disappeared while hunting. This loss devastated Wise Elk and continues to bother him even to this day.
Later in his life, Wise Elk Recognized Silversong and was thrilled to have a child of his own. Though the two elves were different in many ways, they found a fierce love and respect for one another. Sadly, when their daughter was a young adult, Silversong was killed while she was hunting alone. Losing yet another mate caused Wise Elk to shy away from taking another lovemate for several turns.
But in time, and much to his surprise, Wise Elk found companionship and love with Clearheart. She was the most quiet and serene of his lovers yet and Wise Elk found her company refreshing. Then, Clearheart died suddenly in a flash flood only after a couple of turns together. Since her death, Wise Elk has made some adjustments in his life. At first, he found it difficult and depressing to live by himself again. But as time has passed, his den has become his private refuge - a place to work on projects, reflect or just nap in peace. He is taking this time to get to know himself again and is even considering learning a new skill.
Then the death occurred that he had been long anticipating. His wolf bond, Eggsnatcher, had been showing signs of aging in the last turn and Wise Elk knew she wouldn't live much longer. To celebrate her life and to spend time together, the two left on a hunting trip that lasted one moon dance. When Wise Elk returned, he returned alone.
Wise Elk had lost many wolf-friends in his long past, but that didn't make the loss any less painful. Eggsnatcher had always been an enjoyable companion and she kept him feeling young with her antics. When cubs were born the next season, Wise Elk approached with pain-filled eyes and a heart full of hope. He wasn't disappointed. Once again, eyes met eyes and he bonded with a rambunctious little male cub. The wolf's inquisitive nature and friendly personality often reminds Wise Elk of his dearly loved Eggsnatcher. The bond was true and the elder learned again that life goes on.
Much to Wise Elk's delight, Lionheart has been spending more time at Wise Elk's den and a close bond has developed between the two. Throughout his life, Wise Elk has mostly been living with women. It's a nice change of pace to share time with his adopted son. However, Lionheart's growing interest in dealing with trolls has alarmed Wise Elk greatly, since he still to this day believes it was trolls who killed his first love, Arrowflame. Though lothe to tell a young person how to run their life, the elder tanner cannot help but express his displeasure over Lionheart's pursuits. Coming just short of demanding the young man stop his activities and training, Wise Elk discourages Lionheart's interest at every chance. Though the saying goes "Never trust a grinning troll", Wise Elk's moto is "Never trust a troll at all!"
Then the plague came to the wolves and Wise Elk had to take a stern elder
role, forcing the cubs and even Chieftess Wildstar to stay locked in tree homes
for their safety. The elder tanner remembered well when the last sickness ran
through the wolf dens and even elf cubs had died. He steeled himself for the
loss of another wolf friend, far too soon after bonding, but in the end young
Sneak had the endurance to survive. Not all were so fortunate and he grieves for
the losses.
As the elder tanner, he was also faced with deciding whether those who lost wolf
friends could keep the pelts. Though he too values such things and wanted dearly
to tell them they could keep them, he couldn't take the risk. The elves still
didn't have a clear understanding of what starts the sickness or how it is
passed. So with a heavy heart, he recommended the wolf carcasses be burned.
The last two turns, he has watched his friend Firemoss weather more than her
fair share of stress. The wolf epidemic, the loss of her wolf, and the absence
of her mate through both of those events weighed heavily on her. He has offered
her friendship during those times, but he has also felt something more,
something he has been afraid to voice, especially with her mate gone. He would
never do anything behind Duskwater's back. Now her mate has returned, but
nothing is easier, in fact he feels more torn about what to do. He will continue
to offer the sweet plantshaper his friendship - only time will tell if anything
more can come of it.
Wolf-Friend
|
Name: Sneak Sex: Male Age: 4 Rank: Low |
|
Markings:
Sneak has grown into a handsome young wolf. His fur still has a lot of brown, but much white has also begun to cover his face and tummy. The star-shaped mark on his stomach has dimmed some, but it's still there.
Personality:
Young Sneak is moving up in the world, and the growing wolf is indeed living up to his name. He is not above using sneaky tactics to get the upper hand on higher ranking wolves. He has his eyes set for bigger things and hopes to one day have more priviledges in the pack. He figures the more he challenges, the better he will get at it, even if his aggressive nature concerns his elf-friend. But even while aggressive among the wolves, Sneak is still a charmer among the elves. With just a longing look and a shifting of his ears, he's sure to gain some good head scritchings in short order.
