Rushwater Holt is what could be called a 'traditional' holt where member participation occurs through the creation of art and writing, not freestyle email based role play as are the vast majority of online holts today. We do have a story plot, created by myself and my assistant game masters, and to which members explore and react to through their drawing and writing. Multiple author story collaborations are also quite popular and allow you to write with other holt members directly and on occasion we run round robin stories on non-canon situations.
- Membership Fee Payment:
Failure to pay the annual $10 USD fee will result in removal from the holt.
- Rated A-15:
Applies to all forms of participation, be it art, fanfic, e-zine articles, communication on the mailing list or any other holt related material and events. Pornography, rape, slash, explicit language, excessive violence, hate crimes or the like will not be accepted or tolerated - the material will not be published and you will be removed from the holt as a result.
Members must be at least 15 years of age to be accepted.
- Participation Policy:
All members are expected to contribute to the holt at least once a month, preferably more. Lack of participation during the 2-month grace period, for more than two consecutive months or failure to be able to contact you will result in your removal from the holt due to inactivity. Furthermore, if you consistently fail to contribute to the holt, a maximum of two notices regarding your lack of participation will be sent to you and if the habit continues, you will be removed on the third such notification. You must keep your character active!

- Character Limit:
As of August 2000, members are allowed play of one character each; those few members who had play of two characters as of August 2000 not withstanding.
- Respectful Conduct:
Members are expected to conduct themselves in a respectable manner in regards to the holt, myself and other members. This means, but is not limited to, acting in a civil manner, not inciting fights and absolutely no flaming. This is especially important on the mailing list and during any chat sessions held.
- Communications:
Members are expected to respect other members' email addresses and the holt mailing list. Do not send spam, chain letters or the like to the mailing list and do not distribute members' email addresses or other potentially sensitive material without prior consent.
- Copyright Enforcement:
Rushwater Holt prides itself on originality and emphasizes original member creativity, too. All contributions to the holt must be original material created by the member - plagiarism, whether artistic, literary or character development, will not be accepted. Any confirmation of plagiarized material will result in the material being removed from the holt web site and the submitter penalized or removed from the holt.
- Contribution Authorization:
As a member, you grant Rushwater Holt permanent permission to use any contributions you submit. This is necessary for online display of your material but may also include its usage for holt related documentation, activities, items, fundraisers, etc. As Rushwater Holt is a non-profit organization, your contributions will never be solid for profit and you will still retain copyright as the original creator.
- RWH Intellectual Property Rights:
Rushwater Holt was created, designed and currently managed/owned by Cindy England and is therefore the intellectual property right of Cindy England circa 1998. Any persons found infringing on this property right without prior written permission may be removed from the holt. This intellectual property right does NOT override Warp Graphic Inc.'s copyright of ElfQuest and all related indicia, as stated on the Rushwater Holt website and The Current.
- Manager's Rights:
I reserve the right to remove any member at my discretion and without prior warning. Infringement upon any of the above rules is grounds for removal. Rules are subject to change at my discretion and without prior warning but all members will be notified of a change or update to the rules if this occurs.
